Project Completion of The Old Brewery, Twyford

Recently we marked the completion of our commercial renovation project at The Old Brewery in Twyford, Winchester. Appledown delivered the project under a Design & Build contract with our instruction commencing early at RIBA Stage 2.

The scope of work on this circa-1900 curtilage listed building included future-proofing the property with significant upgrades to the insulation and M&E installations.

Following a sensitive decommission, including asbestos removal and soft strip we reconfigured the layout with structural alterations, new partitioning, acoustically and thermally upgraded the building fabric, and installed stairwells, showers, and DDA-compliant WC facilities. Throughout, we retained and restored the building’s unique period features.

With early involvement in the project, we were able to deliver maximum value for our client by partnering with Commercial Letting Agent Trinity Rose to assess current market demands, ensuring the redevelopment aligned with real-world commercial needs. Also partnering with Heritage building specialists
Temple Ford Design Ltd, all proposals ensured the heritage asset was appropriately reimagined and preserved while maximising lettable area.
